In Memory

Bill Baker

Bill

Always had a smile and was very well liked by class mates, teachers and people he had worked for. Passed away during high school from a motorcycle accident.

I went to school with Billy from first grade on, he was the boy all the little girls had a crush on. We even use to call his house and ask for him and then just giggle when he came on the line. He loved the outdoors. I see his Mom often and we talk about us Colbert kids.

Billy Baker was class of 1979 and what Paula said is true.!!! All the girls were crazy about him. His cemetary plot is at Peone Pine Cemetary and I have stopped there many times and never realized how many people from our age group/classes are burried there.

Bill Baker, BBB for those knowing him well at the time.Bill the outdoorsman taught me things I haven't forgotten today. I still know who he was dating at that time today. Bill was a great friend! He had made a huge influence on me,I new his goals. Bill had such a wounderfull family. Bill had rebuilt a Norton road bike (for sale) I had a dirt bike and would trade off sometimes. He would tell me how jerky it was (tourque). His bike was a dream. Going home one day I noticed much traffic on the Newport Hwy. A little while after getting home I called Bill.He wasn't home.1.5 hrs. later his mother called to give the news. She also told me I could come over to have something of his to remember him by,what a shock.Missed to this day! BBB RIP Forever Your bud, Dennis

Much like Paula and Ruth, as well as many other Colbert kids, I have a lot of memories of Billy. As odd as it may seem, we played on the same defensive line together for four years on the Colbert Youth football team for Mr. Whetzel. Of course, we played on the small team, but were pretty effective because the opposing linemen could never find us! I don't think you will ever find a classmate of Billy's that would have a bad thing to say about him, because he was such a genuinely good person from a great family. I wasn't in town when the accident happened, I think I was working at my uncle's ranch, and didn't find out until several weeks later. Billy will always be missed and remebered fondly by all of those he grew up with. May the Lord Bless you and Keep you, May He make His Face to Shine upon you, and be Gracious unto you. May the Lord lift his Countenance Upon you and Grant you His Peace. Amen.
